What is the Dynamics GP Business Portal?

Microsoft Dynamics GP includes a series of web-based modules that are collectively called the "Dynamics GP Business Portal".    It is built as a plug-in to Microsoft's Sharepoint product.   So you literally install Microsoft Sharepoint first and then you install Business Portal on top of Sharepoint.   So it looks and feels like Sharepoint.

The Dynamics GP Business Portal includes the following functions:

*   Screens and query tools that allow non-Dynamics GP users to look up information contained in Dynamics GP.

*   A purchase requisition module that allows non-Dynamics GP users to create a purchase requisition.   Once approved, the purchase requisition is automatically imported into Dynamics GP as a purchase order.

*  A timesheet entry system that allows employees to enter time.

*  An employee expense entry system that allows employees to submit expense reports.

*  An employee self-service system that allows employees to view and/or update key information from the Dynamics GP payroll and HR modules.
